From the Photographer:
Some love stories, like Carlos and Jessica’s, are too beautiful not to share. Over the course of 17 years, they raised a family and forged a life together. After so many years of true love and commitment, Carlos did not think he and Jessica needed to get married. However, during the last year, he realized that marrying the love of his life would make her happy, and he proposed to Jessica. Latanya & Co. Weddings were hired to capture Carlos and Jessica’s engagement session. We met in downtown Tampa, as Jessica is from the area and wanted to incorporate this wonderful city into her engagement session. We originally planned for a two-hour session. However, I always insist that we shoot until we are confident we have captured the images our clients have dreamed of. As we wrapped up the engagement session, we felt successful in capturing the essence of Jessica and Carlos as a couple. By the end of the shoot, Carlos was having just as much fun as Jessica, despite being quite reluctant at first. To our surprise, we looked at the time and saw we had been shooting for four hours. I was mortified at first, but we all agreed that we were having so much fun that we lost track of time. Jessica had waited for this day, and I wanted it to be as special as she had dreamed it would be.Six months later, on a beautiful day in Tampa with their children, family, and friends, Carlos and Jessica became husband and wife. The ceremony took place at Forest Hills Presbyterian Church on September 17, 2016, followed by a reception and an after party at the CL Lofts in Ybor City. The DJ kept the dance floor jumping as the open bar and food kept everyone full and happy. This was by far one of the most fun and loving weddings we have documented, mirroring the love and playfulness that define Jessica and Carlos together.
