Destination weddings are becoming more popular as couples strive for more intimate occasions. We've came up with a quick list of do's and don'ts for your destination wedding.

DO
  • Research the destination before booking, if you're not able to make a trip to see your future venue.
  • Please think of ALL of your guests and try to book hotels with discounts. We definitely recommend booking with a travel agent or destination wedding specialist such as Geauxing Places Travel, in Denham Springs, LA or Paradise Vacation Escapes in Baton Rouge,LA
  • If you are shipping items to your destination, make very detailed lists of what you are sending. We even recommend taking photos of items. Also make a list of items that can be purchased once you arrive at your destination.
  • Know all of the legalities of your destination. Such as marriage requirements.
  • Make sure that you and your bridal party have all necessary documents before leaving your home, they may be difficult to obtain once you leave your home.
  • Plan to arrive early, at least a week to tie up any loose ends before your wedding day.

DON'T
  • Please don't expect everyone that you've invited to be able to attend.
  • Don't wait for the last minute to notify your guests of a destination wedding, they will need ample time to make arrangements to attend.
  • Don't under-dress or over-dress for the occasion. Check weather forecasts before packing and leaving.
