One of our readers asked this question:
"Planning my wedding has been super hard and frustrating! Most of my bridesmaids have been in multiple weddings and they ALL of different opinions on how I should plan MY wedding. What advice do you have to politely tell them to back off?"

Mrs. J responds:
"First off  I am so sorry that you are having such a frustrating time planning YOUR wedding. Yes, honey it is YOUR wedding (and his); you have visions and dreams of every detail. Everyone will want to give advice and opinions, if it is advice that you can and want to use, perfect! If it is not, then don't. Opinions are another story, if you ask for someone's opinion, then be ready to hear it. If the people giving you advice are doing so because they have been there and want to save you from making costly mistakes, then by all means listen and listen well. If they do not like your colors, your flower choices or your music selection, well a gentle reminder that you love all of the above should be enough. You can politely listen to all suggestions but when it comes down to making the decisions, it is ultimately your call and whoever else you want to involve in the final decisions. Since I do not know what type of opinions you are being subjected to I can not address them directly. But I do know one thing for sure: do not stress over the opinions of others. This is YOUR special day that you have dreamt about for a long time, you got to this point because you are IN LOVE with your fiance! So kill them with kindness and do what you want."
