"Between first meeting and marriage, David and Jarod have spent nearly a decade together. After connecting online (and meeting at a local Starbucks to make sure neither was an axe-murderer), their first date together turned consecutively into a week, then a month, into a year, and the rest is history. Their mutual interests in literature, art, and a fascination with the past, combined with easy-going, supportive personalities and similar life goals, made their relationship effortless from the start. When it came time to get married, they knew they wanted a celebration that was an expression of all their shared passions and experiences. There was no better place, therefore, than the castle-like Rhodes Hall in Atlanta, GA. Finding a venue with such a rich history and atmosphere, provided the desired effect and saved a ton on décor costs as well. Inspired by oil portraits of medieval nobility, they and the wedding party dressed in velvet and silk, and the grooms wore custom reproduction chains-of-office to provide that old-world flair. The reception, likewise, was also styled after a medieval banquet and accented with natural greenery and fruits instead of formal cut flowers. Contrary to what he’d been told and expected about planning a wedding by himself, David found the process very simple and stress-free. It took approximately five months from first researching vendors to walking down the aisle. Having such a specific theme, he feels, helped narrow down the endless options available so he could direct his focus on what was left that matched the overall vision." David & Jarod
