So you're getting married? Congratulations! I bet you have soo many plans twirling in your head about your big day!!
So many plans that you went ahead and hired a wedding planner!!! That's fantastic if they're within your budget.
Hiring a wedding planner means that you've not only hired them, but their expertise and knowledge within the industry, which most of the time, also means their team of trusted wedding professionals. Most have a few vendors from each category that they continue to work with event after event. Why? Because they've come to know each professional's work and know that they consistently deliver A+ service every single time.
You hired your wedding planner for a reason, now take their suggestions seriously. Family and friends who dj at the local bar around the corner, is not the same as a professional wedding dj. Aunt Kim who puts together centerpieces for her home, is not a professional florist. Uncle Bob who makes the best jambalaya, is not a professional caterer. Aunt Jan takes semi-good photos, but again she's not a professional photographer. I'm sure her nice expensive camera takes really good photos, but there's a lot more than expensive equipment that makes you a professional photographer.
On a final note, remember that your professional team of wedding vendors are there to ensure that your special day, turns out to be exactly how you envisioned it. Which is why it is an extremely good reason to hire a reputable wedding vendor, even if someone else comes highly recommended and I'm sure they do a good job, but ask yourself this...a) are they a legal business owner b) is this a hobby for them (because those that do it as a hobby unfortunately don't understand a lot of the logistics that go in to planning any part of a wedding and c) where can I look at their past work.
